counseling rooted in

Helping you build a vibrant, aligned life free from disordered eating and body dissatisfaction.

Here's the truth:

Whether you're navigating eating disorder recovery at college, trying to protect your child from the difficult relationship with food you've experienced, eager to find peace in the midst of a season of body change, or looking for a safe space to unpack the harm done by living in a size-obsessed world -  you are in the right place. Welcome.

You are not here to spend your one wild & precious life in the pursuit of fitting into a mold.

I offer compassionate counseling rooted in your personal values and lived experience.

You don't have to go it alone

I'm able to support residents of Vermont and South Carolina in achieving increased wellbeing, self-trust, and empowerment.

Are you a therapist or other clinician?

for health & wellness professionals

If you're looking to further your understanding of weight stigma and its harmful effects on health and client care, or seeking case consultation & supervision, I would be honored to help.

Welcome! I'm Kate.

Meet the counselor

Also known as the founder of Among the Trees Counseling & Wellness, South Carolina native, Vermont transplant, and most likely to pick a green slope (or skip the skiing altogether in favor of a maple latte).

I place tremendous value in helping others write a story that aligns with their values, rather than societal expectations. As someone with a personal recovery story, I believe in full recovery from eating disorders and work with clients to reestablish trust in their bodies and rediscover joy in their lives.

You are more than welcome in this space, and I'm glad you're here.

Navigating Perimenopause

one of life's most challenging transitions -

Perimenopause can feel like someone hijacked your body, emotions, and brain without warning. One day you're fine, the next you're wondering who this hot-flashing, forgetful person is and what she did with her high-functioning counterpart.

This guide gives you three tangible things to do when that meno-rage switch flips... because what really doesn’t help in those moments is self-criticism, a response that comes all too easily to many of us.
